Job Overview 


As a Junior Strategist, you will help to represent the voice of the consumer in Billion Dollar Boy and form part of the team responsible for developing the key strategic insights that underpin our ideas.

You will work closely with the team and client to research the market and competitor set, dig into cultural trends, and understand the consumer. You will help formulate brand and communications strategies, write creative briefs that will be used by the agency’s creative teams to produce the creative ideas, and explore and share new innovations and trends with the wider agency.


Role & Responsibilities 

  • Working in the Strategy team to understand new client briefs, identifying objectives to be met, and planning how we might approach answering their needs
  • Leading on consumer, brand and market research to support the preparation of brand and communication strategies, as well as creative briefs.
  • Setting up and running social listening projects for retained and new clients, as well as using it to identify new opportunities for the business
  • Assisting, observing, and recording qualitative research, including focus groups.
  • Supporting and championing the creative development process, including briefing and enthusing creative teams, and preparing feedback in response to consumer research findings.
  • Supporting the data team by preparing feedback reports on the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Communicating market research trends and methodologies through regular newsletters and learning sessions for the wider business


Minimum of 1 year of strategy experience in relevant digital and creative environment - both agency and in-house experience is welcome.

Knowledge of how to use social listening tools, an inherent fascination with culture and digital, a creative but analytical mind, and an in-depth knowledge of best practices on digital platforms such as Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok and more.

  • Adept in lateral, analytical and strategic thinking; you will be able to apply creative thinking to business problems.
  • Confident in creative thinking.
  • Highly numerate and able to understand, interpret and use complex and varied sources of data and statistics.
  • Strong and persuasive communicators, able to simplify research and strategic thinking.
  • Fascinated by human behaviour, social trends, and how ideas influence people.
  • Knowledgeable about the digital industry, with a particular interest in influencer outreach and social media.
