Director of Production
JOB OVERVIEW
Billion Dollar Boy is seeking an entrepreneurial, resourceful Director of Production to oversee and expand our US production offerings across video production, social experiential, and more.
We'll be honest: this is a bit of a unicorn role. You're equal parts line producer, vendor wrangler and builder. One day you're on set running a creator-led shoot. The next, you're directing a network of sourced vendors to bring an immersive influencer event to life.
You'll get your hands into all of it, the work and the weeds. You'll partner with every team across the agency, report into our SVP, Creative, and bring an entrepreneurial mindset to building what production at BDB becomes next.
WHAT DOES GREAT LOOK LIKE?
Key Responsibilities
Video Production
Line produce. Own shoots end to end — crew, talent, locations, schedules, call sheets, shot lists and on-set management.
Make it social-first. Produce creator-led and branded content built for platform, from nimble one-day shoots to multi-day productions.
Land the post. Oversee post-production through final delivery, including versioning and platform specs.
Social Experiential Production (Mid Scale, Not Mass Market)
Run the vendor roster. Source, vet and manage specialty vendors — fabrication, staging, AV, venues, F&B, merch, props and gifting.
Own the run of show. Build and run event timelines, on-site operations and content capture, so every activation works for the creators in the room and the audience watching online.
Bring ideas to life. Translate creative concepts and visual references into physical, immersive brand experiences.
Leadership & Process
Get in early. Bring a production lens to concepting, so ideas are executable within budget and physical constraints.
Win new business. Lead production's role in pitches — feasibility, budgets, timelines and production approach.
Build the capability. Grow BDB's production offering from the ground up — the processes, templates, vendor roster and freelance bench our video and XM work runs on.
Grow the team. Bring in and manage freelance producers as the work scales, and help shape future production hires.
Partner across the agency. Work hand in hand with Creative, Strategy, Client Services and Talent.
Commercial & Risk
Own the budget. Bid, scope, track and reconcile production budgets across the portfolio, delivering on time and on target.
Manage partners. Lead production company and vendor selection, rate negotiation and due diligence.
Stay compliant. Keep productions in line with SAG-AFTRA, talent usage and rights, permits, insurance and COIs, and on-set and on-site safety.
Solve it. Anticipate and resolve physical and logistical problems before they become issues. Make the call without escalating — knowing your agency leads have your back.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Essential Skills & Experience
7–10 years in integrated production, with real line-producing experience on video shoots and experiential events.
A trusted vendor network, plus the judgment to know who to use, when and at what scale.
A track record of running multiple productions at once, from nimble creator shoots to large-scale activations.
Strong budgeting chops: highly proficient in Google Sheets/Excel, plus Smartsheet (or similar) for complex timelines.
Working knowledge of SAG-AFTRA, AICP bidding standards, permitting and production insurance.
Deep social fluency — changing formats, deliverables and how event content gets captured and cut for platform.
Confidence presenting production plans and budgets to clients.
Agency experience required. Creator or influencer marketing experience a big plus
Attributes
Scrappy and solutions-oriented. You find a way, even when the budget, timeline or brief says otherwise.
Entrepreneurial. You see a capability to build, not just a job to do — and you're excited to grow it.
Hands-on. No task too small. You're as happy in the weeds and on set as you are in the pitch room.
Left AND right brain. Equally inspired by big creative and a perfectly structured production schedule.
Calm under pressure. A diplomatic people person who keeps crews, vendors and clients steady when things get hectic.
